			        THE CENSUS.

The VICE PRESIDENT laid before the Senate the following message from the President 
of the United States (S. Doc. No. 705), which was read and, with the accompanying 
paper, referred to the Committee on the Census and ordered to be printed:

		 To the Senate and House of Representatives:
	
There is transmitted herewith a statement, prepared by the Bureau of the Census, of 
the Department of Commerce and Labor, showing the result of the enumeration of 
continental united States, and of Alaska, Hawaii, Porto Rico, and persons in the 
military and naval service abroad, according to the Thirteenth Decennial Census, 
taken as of date April 15, 1910.
